A user signs in to Handoff at handoff.computer and opens the text channel settings for their default agent.
Enter phone number
The user enters their mobile phone number in the authenticated Handoff web app.
Give active consent
The user checks an unchecked consent box with the SMS disclosure shown below.
Enable texting
The user clicks Enable texting or Connect. Handoff then shows the Handoff texting number and the user's connected phone number.
Opt-in evidence
The text channel starts disconnected and asks the user to enter their phone number.

After the user enters a mobile number, the Connect action is available.

Before texting is enabled, Handoff shows the SMS disclosure with an unchecked consent box.

After consent, Handoff shows the agent number, the user's phone number, and controls to change, pause, or stop texting.
